We all need a little extra now and again, read below for how to add #supplements to your parrots diet.

Supplements in your #parrots diet may not always be needed if you can provide your #bird with lots of variety that they enjoy they should get all they need from their food. However, most of us own a fussy eater, this can sometimes mean they do not always get everything they need and so additional supplements can be useful. In addition there's no harm in giving your bird a little extra especially during times of #moult and #breeding season when females may lay eggs.Additional supplements that I use are:
#Avi pro - prebiotic fibre and glucose
#Cuttlefish - calcium replacement, great for egg shell condition and beak and feet
#Oyster shell - another form of calcium replacement
#Apple cider vinegar - great for feather condition and to aid digestion
If you are breeding birds than your supplements may be different. There are many different brands in the market so don't get caught up in buying everything.Bird grit is often sold with parrots on the front of the packaging. However parrots do not need bird grit, this is because they are natural seed eaters that de-shell their food before they eat it. Bird grit is designed to grind with food to help your bird separate the seed from the shell making it easier to digest. As parrots do not eat the seed whole they do not need it.
If you have any more questions get in touch, I'm also keen to hear about your experiences using supplements 😁
