Where does your bird like to sit.

Types of #perching you provide your #parrot can vary; it all depends on the size of the bird. One thing is for certain a parrot should comfortably sit on a variety of perches with different textures to it. This really benefits your birds feet as in the wild they would never be sat on the same perch all day. You should also have a good number of perches in the cage or avairy, parrots loves to climb and can move around their home a lot easier if there is a ideal route for them to take. When you are buying #perches don't always assume they need to be shop brought. There are some great mineral perches that keep your birds claws trim however they can have damaging affects and even wear down the pads of your birds feet if you use too many. Also make sure the perch is not glittery as this is often made of tiny shards of glass and would be harmful if your bird ate it. Java perches look and feel fantastic they have a great variety of textures and diameters to them. However they are so expensive!!! But don't threat because you could just pop outside your house cut a couple of branches down from some safe trees such as willow, silver birch or sweet chestnut and many many more. Have a look online and if your not sure, research. You can make your own perch for your bird and it is all natural and free!!! If you want to find out how I fix my perches then get in touch to find out more. Ps if you are worried a perch has a fungus or bacteria on it you can always give it a good scrub and leave it in the freezer for 24hours that will kill anything nasty on your perch.
